Research: Reflection spectra of extrasolar planets with Phoenix
Someday, when instrumental precision is high enough to resolve reflection spectra of earth-like extrasolar planets (exoplanets), how would the texture of their surfaces influence the spectrum? What spectrum would a vegetated-, an icy-, a water- or a deserted planet produce? Those are the basic questions which set the frame for my doctoral thesis at the Hamburger Sternwarte.
