Group of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schmitt

The working group 'Stars and Exoplanets' deals mainly with observations and the interpretation and direct modelling of the data. In our group we analyse ground or satellite based observations of stellar light. The used wavelength regions of the electromagnetic spectrum range from the infra-red to the optical and UV wavebands up to the high energy X-ray radiation. This multi wavelengths view enables a most general investigation of the manifold astrophysical phenomena in stellar and planetary astronomy.

Current research subjects of the group 'Stars and Exoplanets':

Stellar activity               Young stars       Exoplanets & their host stars

        X-ray astronomy                        Photometry                         Spectroscopy
