can-supernova-explosions-inhibit-the-formation-of-stars  Massive stars with at least eight times the mass of our sun end their lives in a violent supernova explosion. During this event, a huge amount of mass, energy and momentum is injected into the ambient medium. Hence the stellar remnant interacts with its parental molecular cloud - the places of ongoing star formation. Recently, researchers from the Hamburger Sternwarte, in collaboration with researchers from Cologne and Morelia (Mexico), have analysed the influence of the stellar death on the evolution of their parental molecular cloud by means of 3D numerical simulations (B.
